Ryan Murphy’s Latest Series ‘The Beauty’ Heads to FX – Here’s What We Know!

FX has announced that it will be the home for a new series from Ryan Murphy, the prolific producer. The drama, titled The Beauty, has been picked up by the Disney-owned outlet and is based on the 2016 Image Comics title of the same name. The series will feature Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope in lead roles. The show is set to be produced by Murphy’s production company and 20th Television, where Murphy is based, with Murphy and Matthew Hodgson credited as co-creators.

The plot of The Beauty revolves around a world where a sexually transmitted disease spreads rapidly because it makes people more physically attractive. Two detectives stumble upon a conspiracy surrounding the disease’s origins. Production for the series is scheduled to start in the fall.

This new series adds to a string of recent debuts for Murphy, including FX’s American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez and Grotesquerie, Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, and ABC’s Doctor Odyssey. The collaboration between Murphy and Evan Peters continues, as they have previously worked together on American Horror Story, Pose, and the first season of Monster. Peters received an Emmy nomination for his role in the Jeffrey Dahmer-focused season of Monster.

As of late, Kutcher has been involved in several projects, including Netflix’s rom-com Your Place or Mine, the feature film Vengeance, and a guest appearance on That ’90s Show. He is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and Sloane Offer.

Ramos recently appeared in Twisters and is set to star in Disney+’s Marvel series Ironheart, scheduled for release in 2025. His representation includes CAA, Door 24, Laffitte Management Group, and attorney Erik Hyman.

Pope received an Emmy nomination for his role in Murphy’s Netflix limited series Hollywood and has also been seen in Pose and the feature film The Inspection, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. He is represented by WME, Door 24, attorney Michael Auerbach, and Shelter PR.

Murphy and Hodgson are serving as executive producers for The Beauty, which features Peters, Ramos, Pope, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, and Eric Gitter.
