Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman are reportedly maintaining a positive relationship, despite a video that circulated widely this week, capturing an awkward interaction between the two at Paris Fashion Week. The video, which has sparked considerable debate, depicts the two actors standing in front of a crowd of photographers alongside singer Katy Perry. In the clip, Hayek, 58, is seen attempting to guide Kidman, who had her back to the cameras, by placing a hand on her side. Kidman, however, appears to push away Hayek’s hand and gestures at the actor, seemingly telling her, “Don’t touch me.”
A source close to Hayek has stated that the video has been taken “totally out of context” and emphasized that there is no animosity between the two. The incident occurred at Balenciaga’s spring/summer 2025 show on September 30 and also drew attention because the photographer behind the camera requested Kidman and Hayek to pose together, to which Kidman responded by kissing Katy Perry goodbye and walking away from the group.
After a video of an interaction between Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek sparked criticism from fans, Hayek posted a photo of the two on Instagram. The picture showed them smiling together at the grand finale of Paris Fashion Week 2025, where they both wore stunning all-black outfits. Kidman’s appearance at the Balenciaga show marked one of her first public appearances since the passing of her mother. She missed out on receiving an award at the Venice Film Festival due to her mother’s death. Kidman later expressed gratitude on Instagram for the support she received from fans after her mother’s passing.
