Ahead of her role in the upcoming installment of Universal’s Jurassic World franchise, Scarlett Johansson revealed her deep passion for the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World series, describing herself as a “huge nerd” for all things related to them. She also shared that she had been actively seeking a way to become involved in the franchise for over a decade.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Scarlett Johansson expressed her excitement about the opportunity to join the cast of Jurassic World. Despite her extensive involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Johansson eagerly embraced the chance to be part of another major Hollywood franchise. She revealed, “I’m an enormous Jurassic Park fan. It’s one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was like life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.” Johansson’s enthusiasm for the franchise was palpable as she added, “I’m such an enormous fan of the franchise and a huge nerd for it. I’m just like, I can’t even, I’m pinching myself.”
Furthermore, it was confirmed in March that Johansson was in talks to star in Jurassic World 4, the highly anticipated fourth installment in the Jurassic World series and the seventh movie in the Jurassic Park franchise that first hit screens in 1993. Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on The Creator and Rogue One, Jurassic World 4 will feature a star-studded cast including Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and emerging talent Audrina Miranda.
Scarlett Johansson shared her excitement about the upcoming film script penned by David Koepp, the renowned writer behind the first two Jurassic Park films. She expressed her admiration for Koepp’s work, describing the script as “incredible” and highlighting his passionate return after 30 years to write it. Johansson revealed her decade-long aspiration to become part of the Jurassic World series, emphasizing her willingness to take on any role within the franchise for over 10 years. She humorously mentioned being open to getting “eaten by whatever” or even assisting with craft services just to be involved. Reflecting on her long-standing desire, she expressed disbelief that her involvement had finally materialized at this particular moment in her career.
