Rosamund Pike Takes on Silicon Valley in Netflix’s Newest Thriller.

Netflix has announced its next drama series, “Thumblite,” which will delve into the world of Silicon Valley. The streaming giant secured the series in a heated bidding war, offering a straight-to-series order. Produced by Media Res, known for “The Morning Show” and “Pachinko,” and created by Scott Z. Burns (renowned for “The Report” and Apple TV+’s “Extrapolations”), the series promises to be a captivating exploration of the tech industry’s epicenter. Renowned NYU marketing professor and podcaster Scott Galloway joins the team as an executive producer, adding to the project’s prestige. The talented Rosamund Pike, known for “The Wheel of Time” and “Saltburn,” will star in the series and also serve as an executive producer.

“Thumblite” is described by Netflix as a “corporate thriller set in Silicon Valley,” offering an insider’s look into the power struggles, rivalries, aspirations, and fixations of industry titans and their subordinates as they compete for dominance in the world’s most influential sector. While details about Pike’s role are being closely guarded, anticipation for her portrayal is high.

The series is set to be a standout in the growing collection of Silicon Valley-focused shows. Notably, CBS is working on a legal drama named “Cupertino” from the acclaimed creators of “Evil” and “The Good Fight,” Robert and Michelle King.

Scott Z. Burns will take on the role of showrunner for “Thumblite,” adding to his impressive repertoire that includes the likes of “The Informant!,” “Contagion,” and “The Laundromat.” In addition to his writing credits, he has also directed episodes of “The Loudest Voice” and “Californication” and helmed “Extrapolations,” Apple’s anthology series tackling climate change.

This project marks Scott Galloway’s first venture into scripted television. His expertise, shared through the “Pivot” podcast co-hosted with tech journalist Kara Swisher and his in-depth book on tech giants like Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Google, will undoubtedly infuse the series with valuable insights. Joining them as executive producers are Greg Jacobs, Michael Ellenberg, and Lindsey Springer, all from Media Res.

Rosamund Pike is represented by CAA, United Agents in the U.K, Magnolia Entertainment, and Prosper PR, while Scott Z. Burns is with UTA and Jackoway Austen.
