Ewan McGregor, renowned for his role in the Star Wars franchise, expressed deep appreciation after being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 53-year-old Scottish actor, who recently spoke candidly about the challenges of parenthood with his wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead, was commemorated on the iconic street in a ceremony featuring a heartfelt speech from Hayden Christensen, his co-star in two Star Wars movies.
Christensen, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker, apprentice to McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi in “Attack of the Clones” and “The Revenge of the Sith,” warmly praised McGregor as “the best Jedi master anyone could’ve asked for,” portraying him as “the coolest man on the planet” and a true “brother.”
Director Mike Mills, who collaborated with McGregor on the 2010 Oscar-winning comedy-drama “Beginners,” lauded the actor’s emotional depth and authenticity, highlighting the anticipation of the crew for McGregor’s presence on set.
During the induction ceremony, McGregor expressed his gratitude and revealed his joy at being in close proximity to the star of his late friend Carrie Fisher, who famously portrayed Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy and the modern Disney trilogy.
Accompanied by his wife and children at the unveiling of his star, McGregor humbly thanked the attendees and conveyed his overwhelming emotions, particularly emphasizing the significance of being close to his old friend Carrie Fisher on the Walk of Fame.
