Elton John, the 77-year-old singer-songwriter, surprised the audience with a performance at the U.S. premiere of the documentary ‘Elton John: Never Too Late’ at the New York Film Festival. Accompanied by his husband and the co-director of the documentary, David Furnish, Elton John performed “Tiny Dancer” while speaking about the significant role of music in his life. He expressed gratitude to music for being his inspiration throughout his entire life, even during his darkest times. Additionally, he reflected on the early years of his success and the joy of sharing his music with the world.
In 1990, John achieved sobriety and realized that he was lacking humility, gratitude, and faith in his life. Despite his successful music career and fame, he felt something was missing. However, he eventually found complete happiness and bliss when he met David and had his children. At 77 years old, he expressed that he has never felt as happy as he does now, having done everything there is to do.
The documentary had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It covers the early years of John’s career up to his final performance at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles in November 2022.
