Netflix has announced that Claire Danes, who starred in the hit TV series Homeland, is set to headline its upcoming limited series titled The Beast In Me. The show has been created, written and executive produced by Gabe Rotter, the famous alum of The X-Files. The new mystery thriller series reunites Danes with Homeland showrunner Howard Gordon.
In the series, Danes will play the role of Aggie Wiggs, a mourning author who finds a new subject for her book in her next-door neighbor, Nile Sheldon. Sheldon was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. Aggie’s investigation into Sheldon’s story takes an unexpected turn, leading her down a dark path as she tries to uncover the truth. The plot turns into a game of cat and mouse, and the stakes are high as Aggie’s obsession with the case might turn deadly. With the talented cast and creative team behind the show, The Beast In Me is shaping up to be a thrilling and captivating limited series that is not to be missed.
The upcoming series has had quite a journey in its development. It all started about 6-7 years ago when the scriptwriter, Rotter, wrote the initial script for the show, which featured a male protagonist. Unfortunately, the script didn’t generate much interest. Despite their efforts, the script still underwent several revisions before finally catching the attention of Netflix, who gave it the green light. The journey to making this series has been far from easy; however, with a thrilling premise, the series promises to be a good one.
