Jay Blades’s program on Channel 5 seems to have been removed from the streaming site of the broadcaster following allegations of controlling or coercive behavior towards his wife.
The show “Jay Blades: The West End Through Time” was not accessible on My 5 on Saturday.
This follows the BBC’s decision to remove a repeat of the program “David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed,” which features Blades and Sir David Jason, from Friday’s schedule.
The 54-year-old appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday after being charged by West Mercia Police. The charge pertains to his estranged wife Lisa Zbozen, as per court documents.
Jay Blades gained prominence as the host of the prime-time BBC show “The Repair Shop.” As of Saturday, episodes of the show and other programs he hosts were still available on the BBC iPlayer.
The BBC has declined to comment on the legal case or on Blades’s future at the corporation.
Following the public revelation of Blades’s prosecution, Buckinghamshire New University disclosed that he had resigned from his role as its chancellor immediately.
A two-part series, “Jay Blades: The West End Through Time,” delves into the history of London’s theatre district, featuring interviews with historians and current workers there.
In 2022, the furniture restorer was appointed an MBE for his contributions to the craft industry. He married Lisa Zbozen in Barbados in November of that same year.
Lisa Zbozen shared a news article reporting Blades’s charges of controlling or coercive behavior.
The presenter, who was released on bail on Friday, is scheduled to appear in court at Worcester Crown Court on October 11.
The last broadcast of “The Repair Shop” was on Wednesday.
The show won the award for the best daytime show at the National Television Awards last year. This year, it was nominated again but did not win.
It is understood that the BBC is reassessing its scheduling.
