Mark Your Calendar: ‘The Batman’ Hits Theaters Again on August 28.

On Wednesday, August 28, Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Batman will be returning to select theaters in the United States, and internationally on or around that date, for a special celebration tied to the upcoming debut of the HBO Original series, The Penguin. During this event, fans will have the unique opportunity to revisit Gotham City with Robert Pattinson taking on the role of Batman while also being treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Penguin. This exclusive footage will feature insights from series star Colin Farrell, as well as executive producers Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Lauren LeFranc (the show’s writer and showrunner), and Craig Zobel (who directed the first three episodes).

Warner Bros. Pictures’ President of Domestic Distribution, Jeff Goldstein, and President of International Distribution, Andrew Cripps, have announced the re-release of “The Batman.” The 2022 hit film will return to theaters in collaboration with AMC and Dolby, offering audiences another chance to experience Colin Farrell’s outstanding performance as The Penguin on the big screen.

Following its release in the first quarter of 2022, Matt Reeves’ reimagining of the legendary DC superhero, Batman, proved to be a massive hit with both critics and audiences alike. The highly-anticipated film, “The Batman,” raked in an impressive $772 million at the global box office during its initial theatrical run.

Colin Farrell’s portrayal of Oz, also known as The Penguin, captured the hearts of fans, leading to widespread acclaim. Taking advantage of the character’s newfound popularity and with Farrell on board, Reeves enlisted showrunner Lauren LeFranc to spearhead the development of an eight-episode limited series centered around The Penguin. Produced by Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, “The Penguin” will be an HBO Original and is set to premiere on September 19, 2024, airing on HBO and available for streaming on HBO Max.

In the United States, the studio has entered into an exclusive partnership with AMC and Dolby to showcase the film on 100 Dolby Cinema at AMC screens. International audiences will also have the opportunity to experience the movie in Dolby Cinema and Dolby Atmos at theaters in the UK, France, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and South Korea. Additionally, moviegoers will receive a mini-poster with exclusive new art while supplies last.
