Ex-beauty queen Esther Gabriel is concerned about the future of Nigeria.

As Nigerians go to the polls on Saturday, Esther Gabriel, the beauty queen of Nigeria has told citizens to elect leaders who have proven ability to turn around the fortunes of the country.

In a message shared on her Instagram page, Nigeria’s representatives at the 2021 Miss Globe World pageant said that past leaders have mistreated the country. She also advocated for reforms and quick action to select leaders with vision, commitment, and competence.

“In the past, we have allowed tribalism, blind loyalty, selfishness, religious extremism, and emotionalism to rob us of our rights and democratic rights. In return, we have deprived ourselves of all the freedoms, security, jobs, and opportunities we deserve as citizens. “We destroyed our land and made it unlivable for ourselves, then we ran to a place we thought was better and safer than ours.

“Nigeria as a country has everything it needs to be great. Nigeria has everything it takes to provide its citizens with everything they need to live. But unfortunately, its citizens have continued to deprive themselves of this right and opportunity through their political actions and decisions. “Now is another opportunity, another opportunity to right our wrongs and make a fair and impartial decision.”

Concerned with the few people who might be inclined to vote along ethnic and religious lines, she warned, “Now is the time for Nigerians to decide to free ourselves from the shackles of is to continue living in chains. “Remember that hunger and distrust do not care about race or religion, vote wisely, vote well,” she added.
