In the tweet, he stated, “Eagles > chiefs” and “Kanye > Taylor” and asked, “Who’s with me?” This led to backlash from Swifties, prompting Zach to delete his X account (formerly Twitter).
The tweet contained multiple insults as Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and Taylor has a complicated history with Kanye and Kim Kardashian. Early on Sept. 19, Zach posted lengthy messages on his Instagram Story to apologize and clarify his actions.
He stated, “For the record guys, I wasn’t targeting Taylor the other night,” atop a screenshot of Taylor’s song with Post Malone, “Fortnight.” Zach acknowledged the ongoing feud between Taylor and Kanye and addressed the controversies surrounding the rapper. He clarified that he was speaking solely about the music and expressed regret for his drunken comparison.
Zach expressed his desire to explain his comments to Taylor in the future, acknowledging that he often tweets foolish things. He also mentioned his decision to stay away from Twitter, apologized to upset Taylor fans, and shared that he was facing personal challenges.
In a new post featuring Taylor’s song “The Albatross,” Zach admitted he was projecting his own struggles and praised Taylor’s musical talent. He emphasized his deep respect and appreciation for her contributions to music and warned against the perils of drinking and tweeting.
