Hartman was one of the co-founders of the group of nine members. He was a great drummer and showman during his age.
Initially, Hartman was with the group for the top signature songs like Listen to the Music, “Long Train Runnin” and “What a Fool Believes.”
He was one of the most amazing two drummers in the group. They started performing on the stage in 1971. After a long time, he left the band in 1979.
After 10 years he makes himself rejoins the group. With the energy, they started one album reunion in 1989 and continued with the group through 1992.
In Memoriam: As co-founder and original drummer of the Doobie Brothers, John Hartman delivered propulsive rhythms to the band's chart-topping songs that filled the 1970's airwaves.
