Spider-Man 4 doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but it’s one of Marvel’s most anticipated upcoming movies. Perhaps the most anticipated.
And that is despite the fact that we know that the film works and not much else. There are rumors that Sony and Marvel are working on new deals, including Tom Holland’s contract for the upcoming trilogy and other MCU appearances, but those rumors are just that, rumors. However, some of them look better than others – and, unfortunately, rather bad. Although many fans are hoping to see the new Spider-Man movie at the end of 2024, it seems that it will not be released until Christmas 2025.
Where did this rumor come from, and why should we pay attention to it? Well, there’s a /r/MarvelStudioSpoilers community on Reddit.
As you can see, currently it is inaccessible. And it was shut down soon after a post appeared there, saying that several Marvel movies are going to be delayed. This information aligns with Kevin Feige’s recent comments about Marvel wanting to give fans more breathing room between projects, especially when it comes to series they release on Disney Plus.
Anyway, according to the mods at /r/MarvelStudioSpoilers, reliable sources have told them about Marvel’s planned release, and their leaks indicate that Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters in December 19, 2025.
Apparently there was a problem preventing Sony and Marvel from releasing the film during the Christmas 2024 window, so it was moved to the next Christmas season. Given the huge popularity and box office success of No Way Home, which brought in nearly $2 billion, they are looking to increase profits from the next Spider-Man movie, even if that means wasting time.
And the fact that Marvel seems to have done something against the community proves it to be true. But whether they’re right or not, the official release schedule for Spider-Man 4 should be out soon. If the leak is accurate, we can expect Marvel to announce its schedule at or around the next Comic-Con event.
