Season 2 of ‘The Night Manager’ will feature the return of Olivia Colman, Noah Jupe, and other cast members.

“Olivia Colman is set to reprise her acclaimed role as intelligence officer Angela Burr in the highly anticipated Season 2 of “The Night Manager.” Alongside Colman, Alistair Petrie, known for his roles in “Sex Education” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” will return as Alexander “Sandy” Langbourne, while Douglas Hodge, recognized for his performances in “Joker” and “Black Mirror,” will be back as Rex Mayhew. Additionally, Michael Nardone, known for “Traces” and “Rome,” is set to return as Frisky, along with Noah Jupe, from “A Quiet Place” and “Honey Boy,” reprising his role as Danny Roper, now known as “Daniel.” This exciting lineup of returning cast members promises to deliver another compelling and thrilling season.”

The highly anticipated new season is set to take place eight years after the Season 1 finale and is scheduled to air on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer in the U.K., with global distribution (including the U.S.) on Amazon’s Prime Video. Joining returning star Tom Hiddleston, who is reprising his role as former military officer Jonathan Pine, are Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, David Harewood, Tobias Menzies, and new cast members, including Diego Calva, Camila Morrone, Indira Varma, Paul Chahidi, and Hayley Squires.

While specific story details are being kept under wraps, the return of several cast members associated with the Season 1 villain, Richard “Dicky” Roper (played by Hugh Laurie), suggests that there is unresolved business from the past. For instance, Danny, Roper’s son portrayed by Billy Howle, had his life saved by Pine in Season 1. Additionally, Frisky, played by Aure Atika, was one of Roper’s henchmen, and Sandy, portrayed by Alistair Petrie, played a pivotal role in Roper’s arms dealing schemes.

The future of Hugh Laurie’s involvement in Season 2 of “The Night Manager” remains uncertain, as no confirmation of his return has been announced. The second season, inspired by John le Carré’s novel, continues to be guided by series creator David Farr, who is also serving as an executive producer and writer. BAFTA-winning director Georgi Banks-Davies is set to direct Season 2, with an impressive lineup of executive producers including Tom Hiddleston, Stephen Garrett, Joe Tsai, Arthur Wang, Stephen and Simon Cornwell, Michele Wolkoff, Tessa Inkelaar, Adrián Guerra, William D. Johnson, Nick Cornwell, Susanne Bier, Chris Rice, and Gaynor Holmes. “The Night Manager” is a collaboration between The Ink Factory, Character 7, Demarest Films, and 127 Wall, in co-production with Nostromo Pictures, while Fifth Season is handling global distribution. The second season of the series promises to continue the compelling narrative that left viewers on the edge of their seats.

“The Night Manager” Season 1, which was broadcast on BBC One in the U.K. and on AMC in the U.S., received several Golden Globes wins. Olivia Colman won for best supporting actress, Tom Hiddleston won for best actor in a limited series or TV film, and Hugh Laurie won for best supporting actor. The series was one of the most watched TV shows in the U.K. in 2016, as reported by the BBC.
