Netflix Casts Jon Bernthal and Pablo Schreiber in Exciting ‘His & Hers’ Adaptation.

The Bear actor Jon Bernthal, fresh from his recent Emmy win, is set to star in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of “His & Hers.” The series, described as a captivating psychological thriller, will also feature Pablo Schreiber and Tessa Thompson, who will serve as executive producer and play the lead character.

Thompson will portray the newscaster Anna Andrews, who resides in secluded solitude in Atlanta. When she hears about a murder in her hometown of Dahlonega, Georgia, Anna becomes determined to uncover the truth. Bernthal is slated to play Jack Harper, a detective at the Sheriff’s Office who is married to Anna and has a complex relationship with her due to past trauma and betrayal. Schreiber will take on the role of Richard, a highly skilled cameraman at the local news station.

The series, based on Alice Feeney’s novel, is being helmed by filmmaker William Oldroyd and commenced production in the autumn. A premiere date for the show is yet to be announced.

In addition to Thompson, director-writer William Oldroyd, showrunner-writer Dee Johnson, and writer Bill Dubuque are serving as executive producers for the Fifth Season series. Joining them in the executive producer roles are Kristen Campo for Campout Productions, Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films, and Kishori Rajan for Viva Maude. Bernthal recently received the best guest actor in a comedy award at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys for his role on FX’s The Bear. Alongside his role on The Bear, Bernthal has been recognized for his performances in television series such as “American Gigolo” and “We Own This City,” following his starring roles in Netflix’s “The Punisher” and AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Schreiber, known for his work on “American Gods” and “Orange Is the New Black,” has since appeared in limited series “Defending Jacob” and “Candy,” as well as the recent two-season “Halo” adaptation.
