Netflix has recently acquired the rights to the popular Thai film “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies.” The film is set to premiere in Southeast Asia on Sept. 12 and will be available in other regions later this year. Produced by GDH 559, “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies” is a captivating tale written by Thodsapon Thiptinnakorn, drawing inspiration from personal experiences.
Directed by Pat Boonnitipat, known for “Bad Genius,” the film has achieved tremendous success since its April release, becoming the highest-grossing Thai film in several countries, including Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
The story revolves around the protagonist M (Putthipong “Billkin” Assaratanakul), who sets aside his aspirations as a game caster to attend to his terminally ill grandmother (Usha Seamkhum) in hopes of securing a multimillion-dollar inheritance. However, winning his grandmother’s favor is no easy task, as she proves to be demanding and exceedingly difficult to please. To make matters more complicated, M faces fierce competition, prompting him to go to great lengths to become the favored heir before time runs out.
Notably, “How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies” marks Boonnitipat’s debut as a feature film director, with Billkin and Usha showcasing their talent in leading roles.
