Milla Jovovich & Dave Bautista Star in ‘In The Lost Lands’ – A New Fantasy Adventure.

Vertical has recently obtained the rights to distribute the fantasy film “In the Lost Lands” in the United States. This film marks the reunion of director Paul W.S. Anderson and actress Milla Jovovich, known for their work on the “Resident Evil” series, under the production of Constantin Film.

The movie is based on a short story by George R.R. Martin, the acclaimed author of “Game of Thrones.” In addition to Milla Jovovich, the film features Dave Bautista from the popular “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise. “In the Lost Lands” is set to be released exclusively in theaters in the early months of next year.

The plot revolves around a queen who, in a desperate attempt to fulfill her desires, sends the powerful and feared sorceress Gray Alys, played by Jovovich, to the mystical and eerie wilderness of the Lost Lands in search of a magical power. The sorceress is accompanied by a drifter named Boyce, portrayed by Bautista, and together they must navigate and overcome various challenges posed by both humans and demons.

The screenplay for the film was written by Constantin Werner, based on a story crafted in collaboration with Anderson. The production team includes Anderson, Jeremy Bolt, Jovovich, Bautista, Werner, Jonathan Meisner, and Robert Kulzer. The film’s executive producers are Martin Moszkowicz, Nico Bruinsma, Kirk D’Amico, and Kevin Forester, with Richard Wright serving as the executive in charge of production.

Paul W.S. Anderson expressed his excitement for the film, emphasizing its unique visual style and storytelling, which is enhanced by cutting-edge technology. He highlighted the importance of experiencing the movie on the big screen and expressed his enthusiasm for Vertical’s involvement in bringing “In the Lost Lands” to American theaters.

Peter Jarowey, a partner at Vertical, also shared his enthusiasm for the project, praising the compelling cinematic experiences resulting from the partnership between Paul and Milla. He emphasized Dave Bautista’s larger-than-life charm and humor, as well as the captivating chemistry among the cast members.

The deal for the U.S. release of “In The Lost Lands” was negotiated by Peter Jarowey and SVP of Acquisitions Tony Piantedosi on behalf of Vertical, with CAA Media Finance representing the production.
