Organizers of the 77th Cannes Film Festival announced on Thursday that Meryl Streep will be honored with an honorary Palme d’Or at the opening ceremony on 14 May. Streep, who won the best actress award at Cannes in 1989 for her role in Fred Schepisi’s “Evil Angels,” expressed her gratitude and excitement for receiving the award.
