The Creative Arts Emmy Awards honor behind-the-scenes artistic and technical achievements in television, and are a prelude to the main Emmys ceremony. Additionally, Dick Van Dyke, who is approaching his 99th birthday next month, stood out when “Dick Van Dyke 98 Years Of Magic” won best pre-recorded variety special. Van Dyke humorously quipped about his age during the ceremony.

Looking ahead, the main Emmys ceremony, where favorites like “Hacks” and “The Bear” are anticipated to take top honors, will be hosted by Dan and Eugene Levy and aired at 8 p.m. EST on ABC on September 15th. Noteworthy nominees for the main Emmys include Maya Rudolph for best actress in a comedy for her role in the Apple TV+ series “Loot,” and the highly acclaimed FX series “Shogun,” which is up for a total of 25 nominations.
