Leslye Headland, the creator of “The Acolyte,” has announced her next project after the show’s cancellation. She is set to return to Broadway with “Cult of Love,” a new show that has attracted attention due to its star-studded cast. Some of the notable names joining the cast of “Cult of Love” include Zachary Quinto from “Invincible” and “Star Trek,” Shailene Woodley from “Divergent” and “Big Little Lies,” and Rebecca Henderson from “Russian Doll” and “The Acolyte.” The plot revolves around the holiday season for the Dahl family, highlighting the dynamics and conflicts that arise when the adult children return home with their partners.
Despite the disappointment of “The Acolyte” not returning for a second season, Headland is moving forward with other projects. In addition to “Cult of Love,” she has lined up two more projects, including the FX miniseries “Dying for Sex” starring Michelle Williams, and a feature film adaptation of the acclaimed novel “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.”
Although “The Acolyte” has been canceled after its first season, fans can still stream it on Disney+.
