Kate Beckinsale Stuns in Action-Packed ‘Canary Black’ Trailer Release.

Prime Video is currently airing the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, one of its most popular shows. However, another project is also on the horizon. Prime Video has just released the first trailer for Canary Black, an upcoming action thriller featuring Kate Beckinsale, set to be released on October 24. The movie will center around Avery Graves (played by Beckinsale), who is coerced by terrorists to betray her country in order to save her kidnapped husband. Alongside Beckinsale, Canary Black boasts a star-studded cast including Saffrron Burrows, Rupert Friend, Ben Miles, and the late Ray Stevenson.

The script for Canary Black was written by Matthew Kennedy, following his screenwriting debut with Inheritance in 2020, which starred Simon Pegg, Lilly Collins, Connie Nielsen, and Chace Crawford. Kennedy also penned the script for the horror thriller Werewolves, set to hit theaters on December 6 and featuring Frank Grillo. Additionally, he has been assigned to write the screenplay for A Man Called Death, although details about the project are scarce. Pierre Morel, best known for directing Taken, will be at the helm of Canary Black. Morel’s recent works include Freelance, starring John Cena, and The Ambush.

Kate Beckinsale has been keeping busy with a variety of roles in recent years. She most recently starred in “Fool’s Paradise,” a slapstick comedy alongside Charlie Day and Adrien Brody, now available for streaming on Hulu. Prior to that, she took on the lead role in “Prisoner’s Daughter,” a 2022 drama featuring Brian Cox, also available on Hulu. Additionally, Beckinsale has showcased her talent in the Paramount+ original dark comedy series “Guilty Party,” where she played the role of Beth Burgress. Although the series only received one season, her performance was notable. Before “Guilty Party,” she impressed audiences in the one-person action comedy adventure film “Jolt,” sharing the screen with acclaimed actors such as Stanley Tucci and Bobby Cannavale, now available for streaming on Prime Video. Fans can also look forward to her upcoming project “The Patient,” where she will star alongside Ryan Phillippe.
