However, if she were to return, she mentioned that she would prefer to work on projects different from those she did earlier in her career.
In a 2022 interview with Forbes, Mendes expressed an interest in working on emotionally impactful animated films, citing movies like “Encanto” and “Luca” as examples. She noted the evolution of animated films and how they have become more emotionally engaging, which she finds appealing. However, she stated that she is currently not in the right mindset to take on dark or heavy roles.
Interestingly, Mendes’ husband, Ryan Gosling, shares a similar sentiment. He mentioned that after starting a family, he consciously avoids roles that might lead him into a dark place. Gosling emphasized that the decisions he makes regarding his career are made with his family in mind, ensuring that his roles align with what is best for them.
