In the upcoming season four of Bridgerton, Katie Leung, known for her role as Cho Chang in the Harry Potter film series, will join the cast as Lady Araminta Gun. Lady Araminta is a twice-married and twice-widowed mother with two daughters making their debut in society. The eldest daughter, Rosamund Li, played by Michelle Mao, is described as beautiful, vain, and eager to please her mother, while Isabella Wei will star as Rosamund’s friendlier and chattier younger sister, Posy Li.
The new season will be based on the third novel, An Offer from a Gentleman, in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series and will focus on the love life of Benedict Bridgerton. Benedict’s love interest, Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, faces tragic events and has been working as a maid, but her life takes a drastic turn after attending a masquerade ball.
Yerin Ha expressed her appreciation for the showrunner’s decision to change Sophie’s surname from Beckett to Baek to better represent her Korean heritage, emphasizing the significance of identity and representation. Netflix has not yet announced the release date for Bridgerton season four.
