Exciting news about the new Harry Potter-themed land coming to Universal! According to a source from Entertainment Weekly, it looks like we can expect to see Eddie Redmayne reprise his role as Newt Scamander in the new park. The park, called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, is set to open as part of Universal’s Epic Universe in 2025.
Reportedly, Redmayne has already filmed new scenes for the park, and his character, Newt Scamander, is expected to appear throughout the land. The new Harry Potter land is predominantly based in 1920s wizarding Paris, as shown in the Fantastic Beasts movies. It’s no surprise that Newt will be part of this new area, especially considering his visits to the French capital in the Crimes of Grindewald and his active presence during this time period.
While Universal has not yet confirmed Newt’s presence in the park, and his specific role is still under wraps, they have hinted at a live theater show involving the ringmaster of Le Cirque Arcanus having stolen Newt’s case of creatures, which could provide an opportunity for the character to make an appearance.
Additionally, the park will feature wandering wizards for guests to interact with on the streets. While it’s uncertain whether Newt will be one of these characters, Universal has disclosed that some of the wandering wizards will be exchange students from Hogwarts and Ilvermorny, and one will be a French Auror. It’s all very exciting, and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together!
The future addition of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic” at Universal’s Epic Universe theme park in 2025 has sparked some speculation among fans. There’s uncertainty about whether Newt Scamander, a character from the “Fantastic Beasts” series, will be part of the park’s signature attraction, “Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.” Since the attraction is set in 1990s London, which is Harry Potter’s era, it may not entirely fit Newt’s timeline. However, there’s a chance that Newt could be involved in a different, unannounced attraction set in the French Ministry of Magic, which would align more closely with the predominantly Parisian setting of the new land. Fans eagerly await further news, and for now, the “Ministry of Magic” land is anticipated to be a key addition to the Universal Orlando Resort, alongside existing Potter-themed areas.
