In the latest trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, the appearance of Red Hulk comes as a significant surprise. Although there had been speculation about the villain’s inclusion, especially with the presence of Thaddeus Ross in the movie, many might have expected Marvel to withhold the reveal of Red Hulk for a later trailer.
The fact that they revealed Red Hulk so quickly raises questions about what else Marvel might be holding back. I have a few ideas about what else they could have up their sleeves.
In the trailer, a significant portion is dedicated to the intense interactions between Mackie’s Captain America and Ford’s President Ross. However, there are also quick scenes showing Tiamut’s hand rising from the ocean, a direct reference to the final battle in Eternals where the Celestial was thwarted from annihilating Earth.
The location might serve as the setting for the climactic battle in Captain America: Brave New World, especially since it was only fleetingly shown in the trailer. Additionally, Marvel might be concealing a key antagonist, possibly Tim Blake Nelson’s character, Samuel Sterns, also known as The Leader. Marvel has a history of keeping villains under wraps until the film’s release, so this theory isn’t far-fetched.
The main villain in “Captain America: Brave New World” could potentially be The Leader, who is described as “a true mastermind.” It seems possible that The Leader is the one orchestrating events behind the scenes, including manipulating Red Hulk and possibly even orchestrating the assassination attempt on President Ross.
It’s conceivable that this is all part of a plan to push Ross to embrace his Red Hulk persona. While this is all speculation at this point, more details will be unveiled in upcoming trailers for “Captain America: Brave New World,” and there may be further revelations at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
