In the latest box office news, “Terrifier 3” has taken the lead with a successful opening, surpassing “Joker: Folie a Deux.” The horror film, “Terrifier 3,” debuted at No. 1, earning $8.1 million on its opening day and is expected to reach a $16 million weekend total. Despite its limited audience and competition, the movie has already proven to be a theatrical success, considering its low production and marketing costs of $2.5 million.
On the other hand, “Joker: Folie a Deux” is experiencing a significant drop in its second weekend, with an estimated $6.8 million in earnings. Its total domestic earnings stand at $51.3 million, significantly lower than the first “Joker” film’s $193.5 million at the same point in its theatrical run in 2019.
“The Wild Robot” continues to perform well, only dropping 27% in its third weekend and grossing over $84 million in North America so far. In the top 5, “Transformers One” and “Piece By Piece” are also holding their ground with solid performances at the box office.
