Billie Lourd, the star of American Horror Story and Disney’s Star Wars trilogy of sequels, has found her next movie role in the transatlantic comedy And Mrs.
And Mrs. stars Lourd alongside Colin Hanks and Aisling Bea and follows Bea as a woman whose fiancé (Hanks) dies shortly before their wedding day. Lourd stars as Bea’s proposed sister-in-law, who encourages Bea to marry her brother anyway despite his death.
Lourd landed her breakout role in Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut Booksmart, although she is arguably best known for her roles in American Horror Story and Star Wars. She has featured in four seasons of American Horror Story (Cult, 1984, Apocalypse, and Double Feature) as well as an episode of the spin-off series American Horror Stories.
In Star Wars, she appeared in The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of the Skywalker as Lieutenant Connix opposite her mother, Princess Leia actress Carrie Fisher. She also appears opposite George Clooney and Julia Roberts in the romantic-comedy Ticket to Paradise.
Hanks, another actor with a famous parent (Tom Hanks), is best known for his roles in Peter Jackson’s King Kong, American Crime Story, and, recently, The Offer, which depicts the making of Francis Ford Coppola’s classic movie The Godfather. Bea, meanwhile, starred in This Way Up, Home Sweet Home Alone, and Judy, opposite Renée Zellweger as Hollywood legend Judy Garland.
And Mrs. will be directed by Daniel Reisinger, who helmed the uber-successful YouTube Originals series Sideswiped, while playwright Melissa Bubnic will pen the screenplay. There is currently no set release date for the movie.
