ABC News’ Cecilia Vega named ’60 Minutes’ reporter.

NEW YORK – Cecilia Vega, ABC’s most recent White House correspondent, has joined CBS TV’s 60 Minutes newsmazine.

“60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens called Vega “an influential reporter and storyteller” in a statement Thursday. Vega said the appointment was a “dream come true.”

Vega will begin anchoring “60 Minutes” in the spring as a reporter. Vega has led ABC’s White House coverage since President Joe Biden won the 2020 election. Before that, he was ABC’s senior White House correspondent covering the Trump administration. Also at ABC, Vega was the lead reporter for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Her work has appeared on all ABC News platforms, including “Good Morning America”, “World News Tonight with David Muir”, “Nightline” and “20/20”.

Vega joined ABC News in 2011 as a reporter based in Los Angeles. Before that, she was a reporter for KGO-TV ABC in San Francisco. She began as a print journalist, most recently at the San Francisco Chronicle.
