A newly unveiled trailer offers a chilling glimpse into A24’s upcoming horror film, “Heretic.” Directed and written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the movie features Hugh Grant in a compelling villainous role. Horror enthusiasts can mark their calendars, as “Heretic” is slated for release in theaters across the United States this November.
“Heretic” follows the story of two young missionaries who find themselves in a terrifying situation when they accidentally visit the wrong house and come face to face with the sinister Mr. Reed, played by Hugh Grant. As they become entangled in Mr. Reed’s deadly game of cat-and-mouse, they are forced to confront their faith and fight for their survival. The movie features a talented cast including Sophie Thatcher from “Yellowjackets,” Chloe East from “The Fabelmans,” and Topher Grace known for his role in “That ’70s Show.”
Heretic made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, where it garnered positive feedback from critics, particularly for Grant’s performance. Beck and Woods, known for their work on Nightlight, Haunt, and 65, are the writers and producers of the film. The movie, produced in collaboration with Stacey Sher, Julia Glausi, and Jeanette Volturno, is set to hit theaters in the United States on November 15, 2024, distributed by A24.
