Eve Hewson Teams Up with Steven Spielberg: A New Cinematic Adventure

Eve Hewson is reportedly in early negotiations to take on a leading role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming untitled event film.  Recently, she starred alongside Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning in the Netflix limited series “The Perfect Couple.” Hewson’s impressive list of credits also includes appearances in “Bad Sisters,” “Flora and Son,” “The Knick,” “Enough Said,” and “This Must Be The Place.”

This potential collaboration would mark a reunion for Hewson and the acclaimed director, as they previously worked together on the 2015 film “Bridge of Spies,” starring Tom Hanks. Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, the movie follows the story of an American lawyer tasked with defending an arrested Soviet spy and later aiding in a high-stakes espionage exchange.

Although details about Spielberg’s upcoming project are still scarce, the film is said to be inspired by a story originated by Spielberg himself, with the screenplay penned by David Koepp, known for his work on “Jurassic Park,” “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” “War of the Worlds,” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Production will be overseen by Kristie Macosko Krieger, known for her work on “The Fabelmans” and “West Side Story.”

Set for wide release on May 15, 2026, the untitled film is a major project under Universal Pictures. This venture comes on the heels of Spielberg’s much-talked-about semi-autobiographical film “The Fabelmans,” which garnered seven Oscar nominations, including nods for best picture, best original screenplay, and best director.
