Fans can catch a glimpse of this King-inspired content at the 1:04 mark in the preview trailer.
The new teaser footage for “IT: Welcome to Derry” gives us our first glimpse of Chris Chalk’s character, who appears to be a night watchman or security guard making a disturbing discovery in a sewer setting. The 1950s setting comes with some ominous implications hinted at by the “Legion of White Decency” sign attached to Derry’s billboard, adding another layer of threat to the story. The teaser also focuses on the town’s younger residents in distressing situations, including being covered in blood and a mysterious shiny goo. The footage leaves us eagerly anticipating the return of Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise and how he will torment the children of Derry once again. Even though we don’t get a full shot of Pennywise in the teaser, his presence is felt through the familiar red balloon and chilling laughter.
