Twisters Sequel Stuns Critics with High Rotten Tomatoes Score.

The upcoming release of the disaster film sequel, “Twisters,” has generated significant early support and positive feedback from critics. The movie, which aims to replicate the success of the original “Twister” released nearly three decades ago, has received encouraging reviews following its premiere in London on Jul. 8. According to Rotten Tomatoes, “Twisters” has achieved a “fresh” score on the review aggregator website, with a 78% critical rating at the time of writing. This marks a notable improvement over the 66% score received by the original “Twister.” The weather-centric thriller features a talented cast including Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos. Critics have praised the film’s performances and its ability to captivate audiences with its thrilling storyline.

During the production of the film “Twisters,” Director Lee Isaac Chung mentioned that a challenging decision was made that had a significant impact on the filming process. Kristen Maldonado from Pop Culture Planet praised the opening of “Twisters,” describing it as one of the best in recent memory. She noted that the opening effectively set the tone and established the stakes for the rest of the film, emphasizing its pacing and heart-pounding thrills. Meanwhile, Tomris Laffly of RogerEbert.com acknowledged that while there were some “miscalculations,” overall, “Twisters” is an enthralling summer blockbuster. Laffly highlighted the presence of a specific actor, Powell, as fun, disarming, and cheekily silly. In addition, Donald Clarke of The Irish Times expressed that the standalone sequel “Twisters” felt perfectly serviceable in the context of today’s lore-addicted entertainment landscape. Furthermore, Cary Darling of the Houston Chronicle credited director Lee Isaac Chung for delivering a sleek storm story that strikes a balance between emotion and effects, noting that although the storyline may be predictable, it does not diminish the film’s overall impact.

“Twisters” has been receiving critical acclaim, and it is expected to have a strong opening weekend at the box office. Projections suggest that the sequel could potentially earn up to $50 million in its first three days in the United States. Following its premiere in the U.K., “Twisters” has already grossed $11 million, and it is aiming for a significant return on its $200 million budget. The original “Twister,” featuring Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton, was a huge success, bringing in $496 million at the international box office and securing two Oscar nominations.

The movie “Jurassic Park” is a thrilling and captivating science fiction film that effectively instilled fear in its audience while also sharing a key similarity with another popular ’90s hit. Meanwhile, “Twisters” is a sequel that does not have any direct connection to “Twister” or any original characters from the first film. However, the sequel does pay homage to the original by featuring a cameo from James Paxton, the son of Bill Paxton, who was a co-star in the original movie. The plot of “Twisters” revolves around social media storm chaser Tyler Owens, portrayed by Powell, and meteorologist Kate Cooper, played by Edgar-Jones, whose differing approaches to pursuing tornadoes lead to conflict. Despite their differences, Tyler and Kate ultimately unite as they face a deadly storm surge approaching Oklahoma.

The highly anticipated sequel to the hit movie Twister is heading for the big screen, and fans will be glad to know that the original Twister film has found a new streaming home. This gives fans the perfect opportunity to reacquaint themselves with the original movie before the sequel premieres. Jan De Bont, the director of the original film, has expressed his thoughts on the follow-up, stating that the sequel should have been made 15 years earlier. De Bont also mentioned that he discovered the existence of the sequel when he saw its first trailer on TV. Twister’s sequel, called “Twisters,” is set to open in theaters on Jul. 19.
