Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, a renowned actor best known for his roles in Star Trek: Discovery and Captain Marvel, has passed away at the age of 49. His family announced his death on February 25, 2024, following a five-year battle with ALS.
Mitchell was born on November 24, 1974, in Toronto, Canada. He played various characters in Star Trek: Discovery and appeared as Joseph Danvers in Captain Marvel. He also portrayed an Olympic hopeful, an apocalypse survivor, an astronaut, a superhero’s dad, and four unique Star Trekkers. Mitchell was diagnosed with ALS in 2018 and began using a wheelchair the following year.
His family described him as a diligent and hardworking individual, especially as a father. Despite his later disabilities, Mitchell was dedicated to being a positive and playful force in the lives of his children. He is survived by his wife Susan May Pratt, and their two children, Lilah and Kallum.

He is best known for his work on “Star Trek: Discovery”, where he played various characters including the Klingons Kol, Kol-Sha, and Tenavik, as well as Aurelio. He also voiced several characters in an episode of “Star Trek: Lower Decks”.
Mitchell also appeared in “Nancy Drew” from 2019 until 2020. He portrayed the father of superhero Carol Danvers in “Captain Marvel” and an Olympic hopeful in “Miracle”. His diverse roles have left a significant impact on the film and television industry.
