Disney was in dire straits under Bob Chapek, so Bob Iger returned as CEO to turn things around at the House of Mouse, and he took a big step back. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is taking away the rights to two of the highest-grossing franchises in the world, Marvel’s MCU and Star Wars. We can already see the impact on Marvel, which has released more MCU movies and shows in the last two years than all of Marvel’s work combined in the last two decades, releasing only two Disney+ series of movies Eight and three made.
Given the mixed reaction to Season 4 of the MCU, it makes sense that Iger would tone things down in his return. With an incredible run of 18 different projects released within weeks of each other in theaters and streaming in just two years, many players left the MCU to stand out in Disney’s run one movie. in between, providing a nice little break and room to breathe. So, Iger decided to change things going forward in Marvel’s quality system. Although this means that many of the expected projects are delayed, there is no doubt that it is for the best of the franchise and the fans. This is why slow motion is good for the MCU.
