Kit Harington went on The View the other day to promote his new movie, Baby Ruby. He discussed many topics, many of which were sensitive, but he also touched on some important issues. This includes his end in the production industry, which he entered when Game of Thrones stopped for help. This experience had an impact on him that continues to inspire his thinking to this day.
“I’m a big believer in speech therapy and I had a lot of things when I got what I used to do,” Harington said. “But I still have (for lack of a better word) supporters who go to my places and help me. I also exercise a lot, which keeps my brain from going crazy.
I think more should be done, especially for young men… to help them talk about things. It shocks me that the number one killer of men under the age of 45 is suicide.
But most of the interview is pretty cool, with Harington talking about being a father to a son reminiscent of his days on Game of Thrones. The attendees seem to be huge fans. Whoopi Goldberg, the long-time host of The View, has an Iron Throne toilet in her dressing room.
“I have to tell you that we tried for a long time on Game of Thrones to get you to come and do the show, but because of your shooting schedule and things (it didn’t happen),” Goldberg told Harington. “So this was a show that, from day one, was my favorite, and it still is [that]. When I want to see something interesting, I go. It’s a great show, thanks for doing it.
Harington also answered some quick Game of Thrones questions. Some highlights:
No, he can’t say anything about the Jon Snow series in development at HBO. “I can’t tell you anything about that, I’m sorry.”
What was the most difficult film to shoot? “He’s trying to ride those dragons, which is the only rare thing you’ll ever do in your life.”
The funniest thing? “Maybe a cave.” Harington met his wife Rose Leslie (Ygritte) on the set of the show. What other character would I like to play? “If I were Ned Stark, I guess. Once upon a time, one of the best stories of all time.
