While summer may be coming to a close, Kim Kardashian is already making plans for next year’s seaside vacation. Property records show that the reality TV star-turned-billionaire shapewear mogul and aspiring lawyer has bought an oceanfront estate in Malibu for $70.4 million. The deal closed last week and is the most expensive residential transfer in Malibu this year. It is also the fourth-priciest California home sale of 2022, behind only the $75 million Drake paid for his new home, a $120 million Holmby Hills deal and Bel Air’s “The One” megamansion, which sold at auction for $126 million.
Nestled in the heart of 6 acres of sprawling land, the picturesque Mediterranean villa-style house was once the centerpiece of an estate owned by biotech entrepreneur Walter de Logi. After his death in 2014, his widow Lynda sold the property for a whopping $50 million to her next-door neighbors, Cindy Crawford and longtime husband Rande Gerber.
The estate was subsequently split into two parcels and Crawford kept the smaller 2.8-acre parcel for herself. However, she sold the 3.2-acre lot containing the main house in 2018 for $45 million to Adam Weiss, a retired hedge fund manager from California’s Silicon Valley
Weiss had the place re-landscaped and lived there for a few years before selling it to Kardashian. He first listed it in March for $99.5 million, but after getting no bites, he slashed the price to about $90 million. That’s when Kardashian came calling with a significantly lower offer, which Weiss accepted.
Weiss is now moving to the Hawaiian island of Maui, where he and his wife paid $45 million for an oceanfront estate last year. Meanwhile, Kardashian continues to reside at her vast estate in Hidden Hills. She also has two “spare” Hidden Hills homes, one of which recently popped up for sale, as well as a luxury condo in Calabasas and a vacant lot in La Quinta’s prestigious Madison Club.
Kardashian’s new estate is about 14 miles up the coast from Kanye West’s $57 million Brutalist spread. Besides Crawford, some of Kardashian’s nearest new Malibu neighbors include retired TV super-producer Marcy Carsey, Leo DiCaprio, Neil Diamond and Michael Eisner.
The property comes equipped with a gym for my daily workout sessions, a Formal dining area that leads out to a more relaxed patio with ample space for my family to relax. The wraparound deck extends to the pool area, which features a cabana and fireplace. From the pool patio, concrete steps lead down to a separate Spa with dramatic views. The entire property is lushly landscaped with tropical grasses and mature trees, the latter of which envelope a full-size tennis court. And from the blufftop house, stairs and a winding pathway lead down to my secluded beach.
