Stranger Things Season 5 has been one of the most anticipated TV moments of the decade. As fans emotionally prepare to say goodbye to Hawkins, the cast members themselves have been kept in strict suspense by the creators. But there was one exception — Millie Bobby Brown. The actress, who plays the iconic character Eleven, revealed that she discovered the show’s ending long before any of her co-stars did, and the way she pulled it off is both hilarious and bold.
During a special appearance as co-host on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Millie shared how she managed to uncover the finale details even though the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, kept everything tightly locked down.
Millie Discovers the Ending Before the Cast
The entire cast of Stranger Things walked into the finale table read completely blind, preparing themselves emotionally for whatever twists were coming. But Millie Bobby Brown had already seen everything.

While speaking to Jimmy Fallon, she said that hype around the finale made her curious. Everyone was nervous, excited, and clueless — except her.
Just one night before the final table read in December 2023, Millie made a bold move. She snuck into the writers’ room. What she found there changed everything.
“I Like to Blackmail the Directors” — Millie’s Hilariously Bold Confession
In her interview, Millie jokingly revealed her secret method of getting information from people who try to hide things from her:
“I like to blackmail the directors. I have high school pictures of them that I threaten to release if they don’t tell me what’s happening.”
The audience burst into laughter, but the story didn’t end there.
When she sneaked into the writers’ zone, she found a massive whiteboard filled with every ending, every character arc, and every final detail of Season 5. She described it as “so much to process.”
The Final Table Read: Tears, Emotions, and a Wholesome Goodbye
Even though Millie already knew what was going to happen, she joined her fellow cast members for the emotional table read — except this time, they didn’t use a table.

“We sat on couches and cried for two hours straight,” she recalled.
According to her, the entire day felt “wholesome and heartbreaking” as everyone realized that their journey of nearly a decade was coming to an end.
No Special Privileges for the Finale Episode
While Millie managed to sneak her way into the story details, she won’t be getting any advance screenings for the last episode. Noah Schnapp revealed that the Duffer Brothers have decided that no cast member will get to watch the finale early — not even Eleven herself.
Noah told an outlet that the creators want everyone, including the stars, to experience the ending at the exact same time as the fans.
“The finale… they’re not going to show any of us. I won’t see it until the world sees it.”
This means the cast will sit down and watch the conclusion just like every viewer on Netflix. Even though they know the script, the visual experience remains a mystery to all of them.
Noah Schnapp on What to Expect: ‘You Are Not Ready’
Noah also hinted at what fans can expect after the emotional ending of Volume 1. According to him, the remaining episodes get even more intense.
He shared that the story becomes “more emotional, more spectacular, and even more intimate,” which means viewers should prepare for heartbreak, revelations, and possibly unforgettable farewells.
After watching episodes 5 and 6 himself, he admitted:
“I was sobbing. It’s so good.”
